Is Your Camera's SD Card Full? Here's How to 'Open' Up Some 'Space'!

To make room on your SD card, you will need to reformat the SD card within the camera.

The SD Card for your camera will need to be formatted, if:

  1. Each time you insert a different SD card into the camera.

  2. If you notice that the memory on the camera is running low.

  3. If you see your camera LED light blinking blue (Insta 360 cameras).

*PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL DELETE ALL VIDEO/PHOTO FILES ON YOUR SD CARD - MAKE SURE ALL RECENT CAPTURES ARE VIEWABLE ON OPENSPACE.AI FIRST.*


For the Insta360 One R

  1. Insert SD card into your ONE R.

  2. Press the power button to turn on the camera.

  3. Swipe down to enter Shortcut, swipe left to the second page, choose Settings - > SD Card -> Format.

4. Success! Your SD card is now empty.


For the Insta360 One X

1. Press and hold the power button (small button) to turn it on, then switch to settings and press the shutter button (large button) to enter.

2. Press the shutter button to switch to info.

3. Press the power button to select "Format" and press the shutter button to enter.

4. Press the shutter button to select “✓” to format.

5. Success! Just like that you now have an empty SD card.


For the Insta360 One X2

  1. Open the battery cover, remove the battery and insert the SD card into your ONE X2.

  2. Press the power button to turn on the camera.

  3. Swipe down to enter Shortcuts, swipe left to the second page, then select Settings -> SD Card -> Format.

4. Successfully formatted. Your SD card is now empty.



For the Ricoh Theta Z1

  1. Press the power button to turn on your camera.

  2. Press the wireless button to turn the wireless function on.


  3. Select the SSID of the camera in the Wi-Fi settings of your mobile device/smartphone.

    1. The serial number printed on the base of the camera is the same as the SSID and password.

    2. The SSID is "THETA" plus the numbers in the (B) section (in this case "THETA001017").


    3. The password is the numbers in the (A) section (in this case "00001017").

    4. When the dedicated app is started after the connection is done, the wireless lamp lights in blue.

  4. Download the Ricoh Theta mobile application on your mobile device. Open the app.


  5. Tap [Cam images] on the bottom left of the screen. Photos saved in the internal memory of the camera can be deleted.


    a. Select the icon in the top right hand corner with check mark on picture.


  6. Select the photo(s) to be deleted.

  7. Tap [Delete]

    1. A confirmation screen is displayed. Tap [Yes] to start deletion.


For the Garmin VIRB

  1. Access the camera's main menu, use the buttons on the top of the camera

    1. Setup

    2. SD Card

    3. Format Card

    4. Confirm Formatting (checkmark icon)
