Overview
Our QuickCodes feature enables you to register a QR code, then scan it in the field to automatically start a capture from a designated starting position. The codes know your project, sheet, and location, meaning you can just scan and start capturing. This feature is particularly useful for large-scale developments with repetitive layouts. It’s also helpful to ensure consistency when capturing across your site. Below are instructions to print, set up, and use QuickCodes.
Print a QR code
Your first step is to print the QR code or codes you want. Then you’ll be able to set them up for use in the field.
Go to the Settings tab on the OpenSpace mobile app.
Select Print QuickCodes.
Input the number of QuickCodes you’d like to generate.
Select Print to print the QuickCodes directly from your mobile device, or select the export button to text/email them.
Note: You can select Layout and then Pages per Sheet to configure how many QuickCodes you want to print per page.
How to set up QuickCodes
Go to the Settings tab on the OpenSpace mobile app.
Select Set up a QuickCode.
Scan your printed QuickCode.
Select a sheet and starting position to register the QuickCode.
How to use QuickCode to start a capture
Click the Create button in the OpenSpace mobile app.
Select Field Note.
Scan the QuickCode from your mobile device.
The QuickCode will automatically start the capture for you.
Note: If you’re not already connected to your camera, the app will walk you through the camera connection flow.
How to use QuickCode to start a capture during an existing capture
While capturing, select Camera.
Scan the QuickCode from your mobile device.
The QuickCode will automatically start the next capture for you.
