Print QuickCode

Register QuickCode

Overview

Our QuickCodes feature enables you to register a QR code, then scan it in the field to automatically start a capture from a designated starting position. The codes know your project, sheet, and location, meaning you can just scan and start capturing. This feature is particularly useful for large-scale developments with repetitive layouts. It’s also helpful to ensure consistency when capturing across your site. Below are instructions to print, set up, and use QuickCodes.

Print a QR code

Your first step is to print the QR code or codes you want. Then you’ll be able to set them up for use in the field.

  • Go to the Settings tab on the OpenSpace mobile app.

  • Select Print QuickCodes.

  • Input the number of QuickCodes you’d like to generate.

  • Select Print to print the QuickCodes directly from your mobile device, or select the export button to text/email them.

  • Note: You can select Layout and then Pages per Sheet to configure how many QuickCodes you want to print per page.

How to set up QuickCodes

  • Go to the Settings tab on the OpenSpace mobile app.

  • Select Set up a QuickCode.

  • Scan your printed QuickCode.

  • Select a sheet and starting position to register the QuickCode.

How to use QuickCode to start a capture

  • Click the Create button in the OpenSpace mobile app.

  • Select Field Note.

  • Scan the QuickCode from your mobile device.

  • The QuickCode will automatically start the capture for you.

  • Note: If you’re not already connected to your camera, the app will walk you through the camera connection flow.

How to use QuickCode to start a capture during an existing capture

  • While capturing, select Camera.

  • Scan the QuickCode from your mobile device.

  • The QuickCode will automatically start the next capture for you.
