Prerequisites
Steps to complete a 360° video capture
Turn on your 360° camera and connect it to your mobile device via the Wi-Fi settings.
Once connected to your 360° camera, open the OpenSpace app on your mobile device.
The app should default to your project unless you’re associated with many projects—in that case, select your desired project. (To view other projects, click the three lines icon in the top left corner.)
At the bottom of the screen click the + icon. You’ll see the following options:
360° Video
360° Photo
Field Note
3D Scan (if on a compatible mobile device)
Tap 360° Video.
For Example: Tap on 360° Video with the camcorder icon to begin the capture
Name the capture and press Next. (Note that it’s not required to name your capture.)
Capture name example: Inspection Walk - [your name]
Select the floorplan (sheet) where you’ll be taking your 360° video capture.
Tap on the sheet to indicate your starting location and then tap Confirm Starting Location at the bottom of the screen.
Tip: zoom in on the sheet to pick the most precise starting location.
Tap Start capturing—you’re now capturing your project.
When you’re finished capturing that floor, you have two choices: end the session or start a new capture for another floor:
Capture another floor: Tap Next sheet and then Yes, start new.
Stop your capture session: Press the red End Session button and confirm by selecting Yes, I'm done. Your capture is complete, congratulations!
Please note:
Your first capture could take up to a couple of hours to process. As you capture more and more, the Vision Engine learns your site, reducing the processing time of future captures.
We currently do not support switching floors within the same capture. But it’s simple to capture multiple floors within the same session by clicking Next sheet as outlined above.
You must upload your captures before you can see them in OpenSpace.
When your capture is ready for viewing, you’ll receive an email notification. Be sure you’ve turned on your OpenSpace notifications.
