We’re happy to announce the new “Assignee” field for Field Notes. The “Assignee” field is key to enhancing collaboration and streamlining issue resolution by assigning a specific individual to address and complete issues identified with Field Notes.

Key Features

  1. Assignee Field: Each Field Note now includes an “Assignee” field, allowing you to designate a single person responsible for resolving the Field Note.

  2. Single Assignee: The assignment of a single person ensures clear accountability and ownership. The assigned user will also be automatically included in the email watch list for updates.

  3. "Assignee" filter: You will be able to filter for any user to find Field Notes assigned to them.

  4. "For me" filter: This new quick filter allows you to easily find Field Notes that are relevant to you.

How it works

Overview

You will now see an additional field labeled “Assignee” for Field Notes. The assignee for each Field Note is publicly visible to provide transparency and to facilitate effective communication. All assignees will receive automated email notifications regarding their assigned issues, ensuring they stay informed and focused on timely resolution.

Adding an assignee during Field Note creation

Simply select the appropriate person from the drop-down menu to assign the person to the Field Note. This is available when creating a Field Note for both the mobile app and the web app.

Remember that the selected user who is assigned to the Field Note will automatically be added to the email watch list. This user will receive notifications on any Field Note updates by email. To remove the assignee from the watch list, you will need to go to the watch list field.

Filtering for relevant Field Notes with “For me”

To make finding assigned and watched Field Notes easy and simple that is relevant to you, a new quick filter called “For me” is available for both desktop and mobile.

“For me” follows previous filter patterns and can be used to filter relevant Field Notes and then exported as part of the PDF Field Note Report on the desktop app.
