Overview
The copy recent feature in Field Notes streamlines repetitive documentation tasks by allowing you to quickly create new Field Notes using the details from a recently created note. This feature is especially useful for punch walks, inspections, or any workflow where you’re documenting similar issues or observations across multiple locations. Copying fields such as status, description, tags, assignee, watchers, and due date, saves your time and maintains consistency in reporting.

Prerequisites
- You must have created at least one Field Note on the project before the Copy Recent button will appear.
- Ensure your OpenSpace mobile app is updated to at least version 48.3.0.
How to copy a recent Field Note
- Open the OpenSpace Mobile App and select your project.
- Tap the blue camera button to take the photo(s) of the Field Note you wish to document.
- Tap Create new Field Note and pin the location on the drawing.
- On the Field Note creation screen, look for the Copy Recent button. Again, this will appear if at least one Field Note exists on the project.
- Tap Copy Recent to view a list of your most recently created Field Notes.
- Select the Field Note you want to copy. The app will auto-fill your new Field Note with the description, tags, assignee, status, and due date from the selected note.
Note: The due date for the new Field Note will match the time offset from the original. For example, if the copied Field Note was created with a due date 5 days after its creation date, the new Field Note will also have a due date 5 days after its creation date.
- Edit any fields as needed, then tap Save field note to create the new Field Note.
Tips
- The copy recent feature is ideal for documenting recurring issues (e.g., missing cover plates, paint touch-ups) across multiple rooms or units.
- You can still manually edit any auto-filled fields before saving.
- If you do not see the Copy Recent button, ensure you have created at least one Field Note on the project and that your app is updated.
