Overview
You can do a 360° capture and create Field Notes directly on top of a drone orthomosaic—using the aerial map of your site as your capture sheet. This is useful when you don't yet have a reliable drawing set, which is common during precon, early sitework, and fast-start projects. Instead of waiting for drawings or working from a screenshot of a map, you can start documenting your site with an up-to-date overhead view.
When this option is turned on, your most recent drone orthomosaic is automatically available as a sheet you can capture on—no setup required.

Starting a capture on your orthomosaic
- Open the mobile app and follow the instructions for starting a 360° capture.
- Select your drone orthomosaic from the list of sheets. The sheet will be titled with the drone capture date.
- Start your capture and walk the site as you normally would, including taking photos and creating Field Notes.
- When you're done, your capture path and Field Notes appear overlaid on the orthomosaic, just like a standard capture sheet.
Notes:
- When doing a 360° capture, your most recent drone orthomosaic is used by default. When a new drone capture is processed, that newer orthomosaic becomes the one available to capture on.
- Previous 360° captures appear on the latest orthomosaic.
- Captures done on orthomosaics are viewable with your other 360° captures—not in OpenSpace Air.
